There is Suffering and Then There is Suffering

There is a difference between suffering injustice and suffering because of your own sin or stupidity. However, the error we make is thinking that God is with us during unjust suffering but leaves us on our own, cast off, when we experience the consequences of our sin. If that is what you think about God then Psalm 3 is going to be challenging for you. I hope you'll come to worship this Sunday as we consider this challenging topic and look to a God that constantly exceeds our expectations of grace. As always, invite a few folks between now and then.

Updates

  • Online Membership Directory - We've been working on this for months and are finally ready to roll it out. Beginning next Monday you'll begin to get email invitations to log on to your online profile. The online directory is an "opt-in" opportunity, meaning that you have to choose to list your contact information for members and frequent visitors to see. More information will be in the email. I hope you'll utilize this online tool to continue to build relationships with the folks that call Christ Covenant home.
  • SOHLS this Sunday - This Sunday is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. In addition to having information about getting involved with our local pregnancy center we'll take time in the service to pray for an end to abortion.
  • Annual Chili Cook Off - Our (now) annual chili cook off will be on January 31st. Mark that date on you calendar for our next church lunch. We'll be looking for folks to make chili entries into the competition. We'll also need others to provide sides. Prizes will be awarded for chili champions.
